The following list is recommended for anyone interested in, not only Wicca but, the Lycian Tradition of Wicca in particular.

    This section contains recommended reading for developing the ability to astrally project.

    Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen Laberge (Although not specifically about astral projection, lucid dreaming is about the easiest way to move into projecting and I believe just another term for the same ability.)

    This section contains sources for the development of Lycian Astrology.

  • The Origin of the Zodiac by Rupert Gleadow
  • Conversing With the Planets: How Science and Myth Invented the Cosmos (Kodansha Globe) by Anthony Aveni.
  • Astrological Origins by Cyril Fagan.

    This section of books is important in the formation and rebirth of the Wiccan Craft. Anyone wishing to know about the origins of many of our most basic beliefs should be familiar with them. This section is in cronological order so that a person wishing to make a concerted study of this material could start at the top and then progress down the list, the whole while having already read material influential on the later writings.

    This section of books is concerned with important information about culture, mythology, initiation, etc. that is necessary for an informed approach to the practice of Lycian Wicca.

  • The Forge and the Crucible: The Origins and Structure of Alchemy, Mircea Eliade. 1956.
  • Rites and Symbols of Initiation: The Mysteries of Birth and Rebirth, Mircea Eliade. 1958.
  • Shamanism: Archaic Techniques of Ecstasy, Mircea Eliade. 1964.
  • The Night Battles: Witchcraft and Agrarian Cults in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century, Carlo Ginzburg. 1966.
  • Sex & Drugs a Journey Beyond Limits, Robert Anton Wilson. 1973.
  • Of Wolves and Men, Barry Holstrun Lopez. 1978.

    This section of books is concerned with modern psychology, initiation and Paganism as practiced in today's world. These books are important to understanding what the Craft is today.

  • The Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets, Barbara G. Walker. 1983. (Take this book with a healthy grain of salt.)
  • INITIATION: Ritual Drama and Secret Knowledge Across the World, J. S. La Fontaine. 1985.
  • The Psychology of Ritual, Murray Hope. 1988.
  • Ecstasies: Deciphering the Witches' Sabbath, Carlo Ginzburg. 1989.
  • The Encyclopedia of Witches and Witchcraft, Rosemary Ellen Guilley. 1989.

This reading list is not an "easy read" list. Many of the books listed here are written by scholars at the top of their fields of expertise and it was put together to give more accurate and detailed information than is normally available about the Craft, its origins, and practices.
